Be aware of the risks involved in blogging and the measures you can adopt

Blogging is undoubtedly an awesome way to speak out to the world, to share your unique thoughts and ideas and to create a niche for yourself in the domain of writing. But is blogging without its perils? Blogging does provide us with food for thought, but at the same time, blog posts become open windows for the rest of the world to peep in. Initially, you could only share your blog posts with a few hand-picked friends, but with blogging becoming a universal vogue, all the bloggers want their writings to reach anybody and everybody. Of course, they want so with the intention to create some positive influence in the readers’ minds, but we should ignore the risks that might linger beneath something as innocent as come creare un blog.

The dangerous thing that we are hinting at, is cyberstalking and its resultant perils. If you are a blogger, you will of course provide some personal bio data. Often, online stalkers use these personal information to harass you either online or offline. This is why people are getting careful and setting up strict guidelines regarding the uses of blogs, especially when it comes to children and teenagers. But the warnings are for the adults too.

Here are some precautionary steps you can take to blog and at the same time, protect yourself from harm’s way:

Refrain from having an online profile:

The blogging services often ask the blogger to create an online profile. These profiles need to be filled with personal information like where you stay, if you have any pets, what are your likes and dislikes. Be particular about the content you post too. If you are maintaining personal blogs, do not give up such details like which location you choose to go for a morning jog or which is your neighborhood. Almost 85% of bloggers have detailed profiles because firstly, they feel that they should and secondly, because it is fun. So, keep your profile info to a bare minimum or better yet, do not create it all. You can even choose to post your content anonymously. After all, what matters is that your blog is getting read and appreciated, not always do you need a public acknowledgement, right?

Do not post photos:

Simply because you don’t need to. What use does a stranger reader have in knowing how you look? He is here for your blog, right? And as for your family and friends, they already know how gorgeous or handsome you are. So keep your blogs, photo free as most of the times, they become the primary tool for stalking.

Do not post troublesome content:

The rule is simple so come creare un blog. Blog is a public forum, so if you insult your teacher in your blog, he or she is most certainly going to know about it. So, be very careful about the content you post. Make sure you stay away from using invectives or slangs in your blogs. Remember, internet content can always be archived, no matter whether you delete it or not.
